In 2023, Colmeia was launched through two parallel initiatives: IN.COMUNIDADE and IN.STARTUP, each addressing local challenges from a different perspective.

IN.COMUNIDADE

A community-driven track designed to support citizens, local teams, and social entities in co-creating impactful solutions for Matosinhos.

2023 Pilot Winners

IN.STARTUP

EaVy Charging 1st Place - €50K

EaVy Charging developed an intelligent and automated electric vehicle charging system tailored for urban environments. Their solution enables multiple EVs to be charged sequentially using a single fast-charging unit, optimizing space and infrastructure usage in city settings.

Windcredible 2nd Place - €15K

Windcredible specializes in the development of vertical-axis micro wind turbines designed for urban areas. Their technology aims to facilitate decentralized renewable energy generation, with pilot installations planned in community institutions in Matosinhos.

Kumulus 3rd Place - €10K

Kumulus offers an innovative solution that extracts humidity from the air to produce up to 30 liters of potable water per day. This atmospheric water generator is particularly beneficial in areas lacking reliable access to clean drinking water.

IN.COMUNIDADE

Suntech Workflow 1st Place - €12,5K

Suntech Workflow developed an AI-powered solution that analyzes and suggests optimized, efficient solutions for solar energy installation companies. The tool aims to enhance the design and implementation of photovoltaic systems, promoting greater efficiency and sustainability in the sector.

O Bairro 2nd Place - €7,5K

O Bairro is an initiative focused on installing photovoltaic panels to supply energy and mitigate energy poverty in one of the most deprived neighborhoods in Matosinhos. By providing renewable energy solutions, the project seeks to improve living conditions and promote energy equity within the community.

Energia com Vida 3rd Place - €5K

Energia com Vida proposes a system of piezoelectric trampolines that convert the kinetic energy generated by people into electrical energy. This energy can then be distributed wherever necessary, offering an innovative approach to sustainable energy generation through everyday activities.
